No referral...yet

Thank you to all who faithfully 'stalk' our blog for news!! :)

But,
Vince spoke with Duni yesterday - and we will not be receiving our referral this week, possibly not even next week. I know it is her great desire to place a child with our family, but her hands are tied until paper work for this child is complete. This is not a negative reflection on Ethiopia either...it just takes time.
I must admit, yesterday I was broken-hearted.

But,
this morning, I have life & salvation, and I am loved by my God who is working all things for my good and His glory...

what more could I ask for...

I am at peace...

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”
The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD...
For the Lord will not cast off forever,
but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion
according to the abundance of his steadfast love;
for he does not willingly afflict
or grieve the children of men...
“You have taken up my cause, O Lord;
you have redeemed my life.

Keep persevering!

Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. ~ Romans 5:3-5

Oh, I was so hoping that this would be THE post! But, soon. Right?

We still want to meet up with you guys. Hopefully we'll be coming up your way soon! I'll let you know when we plan a trip your way. I'm hoping to come up one more time before we travel to Ethiopia (assuming we make it through court on the 17th).

Hey Alisa,

Your time is coming soon friend!!! God's timing is perfect and as Kari said our babes will not be in ET one minute more he or she is supposed to! We are going to shout on the rooftops when you say you have gotten a referral. Just think in less than a month you could be a mom!!! That doesn't help does it :) I am just so excited for you!!! I would say it's time to buy some baby things now - you can do it!

Praying for patience and peace as you wait.

Alisa,

If it's anything we have been and are still learning right now it's the process of what wait means with the Lord AND in other countries. One step forward may follow with 10 steps backwards. Something that should only take 1 hour in America can take 1-2 weeks somewhere else. Although completely different circumstances, know we understand what waiting feels like when you know you are on the path HE has set before you. We love you both and are lifting this up. Keep watching in the waiting and see what HE will do as HE holds your hand. Love- The Mayfields
